Google introduces a new feature called "Circle to Search" to simplify search processes on Android phones.
Circle to Search allows users to circle or tap an item on their phone screen, triggering a quick Google search for information about the selected item.
The feature is initially available on five Android phones: Samsung's Galaxy S24 series (Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra), Google's Pixel 8, and 8 Pro.
While resembling Google Lens, Circle to Search offers a more seamless experience by allowing searches anywhere on the device without opening the Google app.
Users can activate Circle to Search by long-pressing the home button or the navigation handle (for gesture navigation), making it accessible over any app or screen in use.
The feature supports circling, highlighting, or tapping on various subjects, including both text and images, providing flexibility in the search process.
Circle to Search eliminates the cumbersome process of taking screenshots, closing apps, and navigating between different applications, streamlining the search experience.
Alongside Circle to Search, Google introduces updates to its multisearch feature, allowing users to ask complex questions and refine visual searches.
